[2] DESCRIPTION

XY SNAP is a screen snapshot resident program which uses keyboard interrupts
(often efficient) and generate TGA, IMG, or Degas uncompressed files.

This project is no longer supported.

Files included in package:
  XYSNAP.GTP Normal program (AltHelp,SnapKey,C:\CLIPBRD\)
  XYSNAPTC.GTP Special TC program (SnapKey,C:\CLIPBRD,APEXDEMO,320x200xTC)
XYSNAP10.S	The source of the program (devpac3)
  XYSNAP.TXT This file

[3] HOW TO USE IT

Before using XY SNAP, you should launch it so that it installs in memory.
Double-click on the right program icon. This one can install a snapshot on
[ALTERNATE][HELP], install a snapshot on [SnapKey] which is the key on the
left of [BACKSPACE] ([`] on a French keyboard), set his saving path, launch
a program, and possibly force the saving resolution in order to avoid traps.
Then, the desktop will ask you parameters. The default path is the one
described above and the default filename prefix is XYSNAP_ . If you don't
want to modify it, just validate (you can also rename the program to .PRG in
this case). If you want to modify the path, enter the new path followed by a
\ . If you want to modify the prefix, enter a new prefix of maximum 7
letters. You can also enter the path and the prefix.

The program stay installed until the next reset.
Please do not install the program in memory twice.

To snapshoot the screen, just press on [SnapKey] or on [ALTERNATE][HELP]
followed by the last character of the saving filename (these ones will
automatically be a,b,c,... for [SnapKey]). If an error occurs, the program
beeps or locks the system ! The generated files format is TGA for True color
resolutions, PI* for compatible resolutions, and IMG for other resolutions.
Before using [SnapKey] , ensure keyboard clicks are on.

The snapshot is possible with all GEM applications but also with
applications which use (even partly) the TOS. For these ones, you should
trigger [SnapKey] preferably when the mouse cursor is not visible to avoid
bugs (probably due to a TOS reentrance).
