KEYCODES.CPX - WHAT IS IT?

Show Key Codes is a simple CPX program for the Atari XCONTROL panel
accessory and is aimed mostly at programmers. It allows you to type any key
combination (there are some exceptions, see below) and displays the Key Scan
Code, the Shift State and the Key ASCII Code. Values are shown in
Hexadecimal (Hex), Decimal (Dec) and Octal (Oct). In addition, the ASCII
representation of the key combination is shown and the Keyboard Legend, i.e.
that written on the main key pressed.

The CPX should be compatible with all TOS versions, MultiTOS, Geneva and
MagiC and all keyboard nationalities.

KEYCODES.CPX - USING IT

Insert the KEYCODES.CPX file into your normal CPX folder. Either re-boot or
select the XCONTROL panel accessory and select Options/Setup menu item and
click on the right-hand of the two large icons which reloads all the CPX
files. KEYCODES.CPX should now be available.

Type any key or key combination (using either Shift key, Control and/or
Alternate key) to display the values.

The Info button displays some brief Information about the program. The
Cancel button closes the CPX.

All key combination will work except a few which TOS intercepts and are so
not processed by KEYCODES.CPX. These are:

ALT-Help Triggers the screen dump routine
ALT-Insert Left mouse button
ALT-Clr Home Right mouse button
ALT-Up Arrow Mouse cursor up
ALT-Down Arrow Mouse cursor down
ALT-Left Arrow Mouse cursor left
ALT-Right Arrow Mouse cursor right
