InterNet Relay Chat (IRC) connects people form around the world into a set of discution groups, or channels. Users can chat in realtime wit other users about whatever happens to be on anyone's mind.

Program

IRCd is an simply IRC server for TCP/IP STinG. It allows to connect users on Local Area NetWork (LAN) but can not connect other servers for instance.

Caracteristics and Limitations are :

• Server can not contact others servers.

• Only 3 channels per user, but you are interested, contact-me for development.

• Only port 6667 is listen.

• Local clients can not send file or chat by DCC ( only remotes can do it ) but it can receive or be chated, I have tried to use client "host" setup unsuccefully :(

• Ugly interface, will be best next time.

• Some IRC limited commands are implemented :

  • NICK

  • USER

  • JOIN

  • PART

  • MODE

  • LIST [channel]

  • WHO

  • WHOIS

  • NOTICE

  • PRIVMSG

  • TOPIC

  • AWAY

  • PING/PONG timeout 2 min.

  • QUIT

• IRC commands are case insensitive.

• Channels name are case insensitive.
