Atari ROM Binaries
Those who are keeping
publicly accessible archives on other servers, please be certain that any
and all ROM's are distributed out and stored in the various archives open
to the Classic Gaming Public, this way there are plenty of mirror sites
and people do not have to rely on one site to access these or any other
ROMs.
Atari 2600
SINSTR26.BIN(Yes, I know what your going to say "there is already a version available." I've played that version and its in a very early stage of development. This version is much later and is a much more playable version then the previously released one.)
MILPED26.BIN(Again, I know what your going say "A version is already out there." Well the released version and the version distributed for use with the emulators is one version. Now check out this version with an entirely different opening screen, the shooter is a different shape and the mushrooms are multicolored. Its seems to play a little differently as well. So here's yet another prototype work in progress variation of a game already available.)
Atari 5200
SPITFIRE.BIN(This is an early stage unreleased game for the 5200, an interesting combination of Zaxxon, Star Raiders and Dreadnaut Factor. Have fun figuring it out.)
JRPACMAN.BIN(This is simply one of the best versions of Pac Man that the Atari 5200 ever saw next to Super Pac Man, check this out, you'll spend hours upon hours with this great game)
SUPERPAC.BIN(Yup, you guessed it. Super Pac Man for the 5200. (1-23-2001 Jim Higgs who created the JUM5200 Emulator contacted me the other day and has made a new version of his emulator, version .051a+ now supports Super Pac Man. I am hoping the Virtual SuperSystem Emulator will also be updated to support it too.)
XARI52.BIN(Xari Arena, this amazing unreleased game from 1983 is a sort of Head to Head Breakout game where you pick up crystals and shoot fireballs at your opponent, a very colorful, musical and involving game, enjoy!)
FRSKYTOM.BIN (This unreleased game is an interesting play on Mouse Trap and many other similar games, I think everyone will find it enjoyable.)
BOOGIE.BIN (Here's a weird one, perhaps someone was just having some fun making some music or the opening screen from 1982 and the opening music was all that was finished on this "demo" game. Another interesting part of it: The checksum on the eprom is 34DD, coincidence? Or a programmer having some fun? :-)
YELLWSUB.BIN (This is the 1982 Yellow Sub Demo, it doesn't do very much. An image of the Yellow Submarine is on the screen and you are able to maneuver it around the screen, that's about it, not much, but nice to have.)
PETEDIAG.BIN (Pete's Diag's. Peter Gerard was the chief architect of the incredible Atari 5200 Super System. This is one of his personal diagnostic testing programs he created for the Super System.)
PAMDIAG2.BIN (PAM Diagnostics 2.0 for the Atari 5200 Super System.)
PAMSALT1.BIN
(PAM Salt 1.0 Salt stood for Stand ALone Tests)
Atari 7800
78ASTER.BIN(Unencrypted
pre-release version of Atari 7800 3D Asteroids from 6/20/84.)
