May 12, 1999 Update:

This morning we received a surprise email with a link to the NewsMedia website.   Continuing their story and coverage of Atari, Nolan Bushnell and the Atari Historical Society, an article titled "Pong Anyone?  The Rise and Fall of Atari" was published on the news media website.   The article is quick and interesting to read, pictures of Pong, Nolan and a really bad picture of me (Curt) out in the rain in front of 1196 Borregus, but hey I never claimed to be a Calvin Klien model :)

In other news, I had a great conversation the other day with Steve Mayer formerly of Atari and Cyan Engineering.   Steve filled me in on a lot of the beginnings of Cyan, Syzygy, the Cyan-Atari relationship.   Also we talked quite a bit regarding the creation of VCS, the Atari 400/800 computers and many proposed projects and also a little bit about the WCI New York Atari Lab.    This information will be presented on the website shortly.

Last but certainly not least, during the E3 Show, Hasbro issued a statement regarding the Atari Jaguar 64 platform.   John Hardie of AGH relayed the statement to the Classic Gaming community.   The statement announced that Hasbro Interactives Atari division is releasing the Encryption Key so that the Atari Jaguar programming community can develop and release Atari Jaguar 64 games on their own.   However Hasbro Interactive also stated that nowhere may a software title state any association with Hasbro Interactive or Atari.   Basically the doors are now wide open, but Hasbro wants it clear that the Atari Jaguar community is on its own.   This will also mean that Battlesphere, Protector and did I hear right ?     Skyhammer may also make it out to the Atari Jaguar community, well this is all great news to hear and we are all looking forward to hopefully being able to perhaps even purchase Battlesphere this comming summer.   Lets support 4Play and Songbird productions and help keep the Jaguar 64 and Lynx handheld alive and well for many years to come.
