After a nasty brush with some unsavory person(s) who decided to wipe out the website, the Atari Historical Society is back up and completely restored. The web hosting service did an image comparision and filled in the missing holes that I had when I uploaded the backups up onto the server, so far everything checks out OK, however if you do see any broken links, missing images and such, please let me know so I can make the appropriate updates onto the site and get everything back in place. webmaster@atari-history.com
Lots of news and new additions to the site now that its back up, one of the first is the addition of the first ever photo's of the Original Atari Pong that was placed in Andy Capps bar in California that started it all.
The next new addition is a photo of the original wirewrapped Prototype of the Atari 2600 VCS. The controllers may look familiar to those who are into collection old B&W coin-ops, they were from an Atari/KeeGames TANK coin-op.
Also new on the site are some great images and information on the Atari 5200 Spectravideo Hotel unit. This new addition to the museum is actually an Atari 5200 with a mutlicart selection system and also a cable TV video system built into a single housing.
Now for some fantastic news, Hasbro's Atari Interactive division has given
the Atari Historical Society permission to release the data specifications
and schematics to all of the Atari 8-bit chipset chips. These
files due to their size and detailed graphics will be presented in both
the Atari 8-bit Computers Section and the Atari Archives section as PDF
format files. Hopefully as time goes by, Hasbro's Atari Interactive
division will allow the Atari Historical Society to release more of its
documents from the archives into public domain.

Hasbro Interactive has no objection
