The chipset's name for the Atari
"7800". The "Maria"-chipset was developed for Atari by
"GCC" (General Computer Corporation). "Maria" also was the
nickname for the Atari "7800" in its development-stage (besides Atari

MATHIESON, JOHN
Back in 1986, John Mathieson, together with Martin Brennan, founded a company called "Flare". They started development for a new-generation video-game console: the "Jaguar". Later Atari, together with Brennan and Mathieson, founded "Flare II" to finish the project. >>jaguar >>flare >>brennan
