More power to the beast: Atari Games' "CoJag"
Before Atari Corporation's reverse merger with JTS, Atari Games licensed the Jaguar's design and added some modifications like a faster processor and a hard-disk-drive. Atari Games published three games based on this "new" hardware:
Game | Year | Type | Hardware modifications | |||
"Area 51" | 1995 | light-gun-shooter | The
68000 was replaced by an SGI R3K at 25 MHz 4 MB RAM 1 GB HDD |
|||
"Maximum Force" | 1997 | light-gun-shooter | The 68000 was
replaced by an SGI R3K at 25 MHz 6 MB RAM 2 GB HDD |
|||
"Area 51: Site 4" | 1998 | light-gun-shooter | The 68000 was
replaced by an SGI R3K at 25 MHz 6 MB RAM 2 GB HDD |
There also existed some game combinations like the
"Area 51" / "Maximum Force" Duo and some kits.
