This Page is intended to be a place where you can browse through files dealing with hardware modifications for the Atari 8-bit. Right now you'll find six hardware-projects. Three of them are in German. The first one describes how to build a Switched Power Supply for your Atari. This Document has been prepared and is Copyright by Thomas Grasel. The second project aims on speeding up your machine. Mario Trams has performed a major developement effort with his 65816 CPU-add-on, called Hyperspeed XL/XE. The third project is a mouse interface by Thomas Richter. The advantage of connecting a mouse through the described interface is a superior speed and more CPU-time for your programs.
The most recent addition to this page is an ISA-Interface. It allows connecting various 8-bit ISA-cards to the Atari 8-bit computer. Right now, this interface has only been tested with Hercules graphics cards. An E:-Handler for Hercules-Cards is available upon request. Unfortunately the description of this project is available only in German. The author of this project is Roland Bühler from the ARGS user group.
Auf dieser Seite befinden sich momentan sechs Projekte;

für Geschwindigkeitsfanatiker :)

beschreibt sehr ausführlich Prinzipien, Hintergründe und
Funktionsweise seiner 65816 CPU-Karte - Hyperspeed XL/XE. Das dritte
Projekt ist ein Maus-Interface von Thomas Richter. Der Vorteil dieser
Maus-Lösung ist die größere Geschwindigkeit und mehr
CPU-Zeit für eigene Programme.
Neu auf dieser Seite ist das ISA-Interface von Roland Bühler. Damit lassen sich theoretisch alle 8-bit ISA-Karten am Atari XL/XE betreiben. Praktisch gibt es bislang nur einen funktionierenden E:-Handler für Hercules-Grafikkarten.
