January 12, 1999  Update



 

        The updating of the website to its new look and feel is continuing.   The Atari 400/800 section has undergone a complete overhaul, also the XL Systems section has also begun to be overhauled which its new look at match the rest of the website.
 
 

In the XL Systems section,
    Atari CX-75 Light Pen added
    Atari 1030 Modem updated
    Atari 1020 Color Printer added
    Atari 1064 added
The Atari 2600 Section has had a lot of activity these past couple of days with additions for the following:
    The Atari 2600 added
    Atari 2600a added
    Atari 2600jr added
    Spectravision Keyboard image updated
    Atari Kids Controller added
    Atari Peripherals Added
    Atari Accessories Added
    Starpath Supercharger added
The coin-op section is getting some much needed attention since it only went up to 1982, currently it is now up to 1989 and
more updates will continue this week to bring it up to 1998.   Currently added into the coin-op section is the following:
    Xevious, Dig Dug, Liberator, FireFox, Crystal Castles, TX-1,
    Paperboy, Return of the Jedi, Packrat, VSRBI, Blasteroids,
    Toobin, Skull & Crossbones, Escape from the planet of the robot monsters
The Atari Standalones will have 2 new arrivals being added shortly
In the Other Atari Projects Section, a new addition: The LA Atari Lab has been added
 

    I apologize for the long delay in posting this latest Whats New Update, but most of my time has been geared towards updated the site, changing the format and added new items which I'm sure everyone would rather see me concentrating on, then getting around to the updates afterwards.    More data on the Atari 1650XLD is pending and we are hoping to have the 1st pictures of the concept model of what is believed to either be the Atari 1650XLD MS-DOS clone or Project "Sierra" an advance R&D system using a 68000 processor and highly advance sound and graphics chips.   (These were models only, no working prototypes were ever designed that are in existence, the Sierra prototype wirewraps were gutted for parts according to one Atari insider.)    Additional data on the Atari version of the Amiga (the Atari 1850XL) has been gathered and will be presented in the Atari archives in the following weeks.
