The Art of Atari (Part 2)

This was the artwork for the Atari 2600 version of Berzerk.   Notes indicate information on both the Atari version and the Sear version of the carton size.

This was a clear overlay for use on the Deluxe Asteroids coin-op.   It appears to be finished photo-ready material.

This is also artwork for Atari 2600 game boxes.   Details for size reduction as well signoff signatures from the art department, marketing and original coin-op managements are on the bottom of the artwork.    Although the normal artwork size on an Atari box is generally about 5" X 7", these original pieces of artwork are generally 20"X30".

Now here is a very unusually piece of artwork.   Actually its on the back of an Atari Xevious coin-op artwork panel that would sit directly behind the video monitor.   This is all pencil drawn in several layers.     Although James Morgans time as head of Atari was short lived from September 1983 until July of 1984, he did quite a bit of restructing that did turn Atari profittable while he was in charge, also many new and more closely focused projects were started such as the Atari 7800 Prosystem and also James Morgan had all of the heads of the various divisions together every morning to discuss current projects and status reports, something that hadn't been done in the past at Atari.    It is assumed this may have been the beginnings of a gift to give to James Morgan on his departure from Atari.

This is a very small airbrushed artwork used for the Atari 2600 video game boxes.
